Regret is the sad conclusion to the love story presented in Juliet and Signal to the Sun. All in all, her heart was no longer mine when all was said and done. I feel that I was meant to go through all that to learn and grow as a person. This song was quite cathartic for me to write and perform following the separation, and helped me focus on music as a whole. This song is not bashing anyone, rather, it delves into the insecurities and loss I was feeling during this time period. Despite all that happened between the two of us, I still wished her well, and "hope I'm not a regret."
